Brian
Greenberg

Brian Greenberg is a Senior Partner in Fortium Partners' Central Region. He has served as CIO, CTO and CISO, and he works with executive teams and boards on how technology, risk and data shape trust, resilience and long-term performance. He helps leadership teams make clear, defensible technology decisions. That means aligning technology strategy with business priorities, reducing unnecessary risk, and building secure, scalable platforms that stay intentionally simple.

Brian has held CIO, CTO and CISO roles in professional services, legal, financial and technology organizations, from early-stage companies to global enterprises. Most recently he was Chief Information Officer and a member of the Operating Committee at RHR International, a global leadership advisory firm. There he led technology, cybersecurity, AI and data strategy, and worked with the board on enterprise risk and governance. With a lean team supporting a firm spread around the world, he rebuilt RHR's systems to be cloud-first and SaaS-native. He implemented a new ERP and CRM, standardized identity and access management, modernized the security architecture, and strengthened enterprise reporting. He was nominated for CIO of the Year by SIM Chicago, AITP Chicago and The Executives' Club of Chicago.

As a Fortium Partner since 2017, Brian has led technology for organizations at critical moments, including interim CIO engagements at PJ SOLOMON and Deft. He was also CIO/CISO and strategic advisor to Akrete Communications for more than a decade. His work covers:

- digital transformation and cybersecurity
- M&A IT due diligence and post-merger integration
- eDiscovery and litigation readiness
- business intelligence and corporate systems architecture

He has done this work in finance, legal, manufacturing, retail, insurance, healthcare, technology and nonprofit organizations. He founded General System Dynamics, and he founded LawRise, where he was CTO and is now an investor and advisor.

Brian is an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at DePaul University's Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media. He teaches risk management, security governance, privacy, disaster recovery and business continuity. As a member of the Forbes Technology Council, he writes regularly for Forbes on AI governance, cybersecurity and technology leadership. He serves on the board of Resilience, a Chicago nonprofit that supports survivors of sexual violence. He is also a member of the Private Directors Association, The Executives' Club of Chicago and the Turnaround Management Association.
