Bob views business challenges through the lens of an engineer as he applies critical thinking to complex issues. While working in financial services, fintech, and banking, Bob capitalized on his business insights and solid technology acumen to drive operational excellence, spark process improvement, and promote innovation. Blending technology strategy with operational effectiveness, he has developed IT plans to leverage cloud-based platforms, championed digital adoption, and introduced advanced data-management and AI tools. Notably, Bob led IT integration for several high-profile M&A transactions and developed new digital products and services for consumer and commercial clients. He has a deep knowledge of risk management, compliance, and ERP. He provides expert counsel to companies that seek to build an ecosystem, pursue digital transformation, or scale complex operations.
With a unique blend of C-suite experience, Bob capitalizes on his business acumen and diverse career roles to drive operational excellence and promote innovation. As a CIO, Bob leveraged his comprehensive knowledge of financial services to set a strategic vision for IT and guide digital transformation initiatives. His experience also included successful M&A integration, new product development, and launch of a corporate venture capital entity to invest in early-stage fintech and proptech ventures. As a COO, Bob fostered innovation and worked to achieve an optimal balance between quality, cost, and control. He championed significant improvements in efficiency and customer service which led to profitable growth. In varied settings, he brings a distinctive lens to problem solving as both an engineer and MBA.
As a Board Member, Bob has served on the boards of fintech startup Ciphertext Solutions, NJ Bankers Business Services, TechUnited-NJ, and the Road to Silicon V/Alley program at Rutgers Business School. His commitment to the startup ecosystem includes funding a competition endowment to support the Bardusch Family IdeaMakers Challenge held during Penn State Startup Week.
Bob graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems. In service to Penn State, he serves as on the Board of Advisors for the College of Information Sciences and Technology. He was recognized as CIO of the Year by the New Jersey Tech Council. Growing up around power boats, he is now an avid sailor exploring Annapolis and the Atlantic Coast.
