Steve Taff is a partner in the Dallas practice of Fortium Partners. He brings more than 25 years of technology leadership experience providing automation for employees, customers and partners, leading to sustained growth in a dynamic environment. Most recently, Taff was the CIO and CTO of XO Communications, a $1.5 billion national service provider of one of the largest IP and Ethernet networks in the U.S. During his 11-year tenure at XO, Taff enjoyed numerous accomplishments that received awards and recognition from Information Week, CIO magazine, Internet Telephony and Technology Marketing (TMC). Prior to joining XO, Taff was the director of operational support systems with Allegiance Telecom, Inc. (eventually acquired by XO). At Allegiance, Taff led the creation of a formal IT function with the implementation of back-office systems that set telecom industry records for service installations. The company received the SuperComm SuperQuest Award for best OSS. Before Allegiance he was the director of order processing systems for MFS Communications, which was acquired by Worldcom. Early in his career, he was the systems development manager for Sprint Corporation. Taff holds an MBA from the University of Houston and a BBA from Baylor University.
