As Managing Partner at Fortium Partners, Stephen works with mid-market and private equity–backed companies to elevate technology strategy and turn complex challenges into drivers for profitable growth. He brings more than 30 years of technology leadership experience, leading digital transformations, divestitures, post-M&A integrations, and business turnarounds.
Previously,Stephen served as CTO and senior vice president for publicly traded and private equity–backed companies, where he built scalable enterprise architectures, reduced technology spends over multiple years, and led global technology teams through periods of significant industry disruption. His work has included modernizing core platforms, strengthening cybersecurity and regulatory compliance (including SOX, SOC, PCI, and CCPA), and leading high-stakes, time-critical transformation programs.
At Fortium, Stephen leads the firm’s Midwest practice, supporting C-suite executives and boards with technology leadership for change initiatives, value-creation programs, and growth agendas. His engagements often focus on aligning technology operating models with business objectives. Identifying technology business costs, optimizing and increasing operational efficiencies, and reallocating savings to strategic priorities.
Stephen is a graduate of New York University, where he remains involved as an alumnus, coach, and mentor. He volunteers with the Fisher House Foundation, which provides free lodging to military and veteran families while a loved one receives hospital care, and he is active in the performing arts community, supports the Chicago Botanic Garden, cooks, and travels with his family.
