Martin is a Partner in Fortium Partners’ East Region, where he serves healthcare enterprises including health systems, physician and specialty networks, home health and hospice, aging in place, healthcare IT, telemedicine, medical device, and pharmaceutical services.  He is a savvy technology leader with a gift for utilizing IT to drive business transformation and profitable growth.  Whether in a start-up or public company environment, he provides strong operational leadership to deliver secure, high-performing, scalable, and cost-effective information platforms.  He excels in the design and delivery of analytic platforms that drive process improvement and strategic growth.  To support mission achievement, Martin has consistently delivered on-time, on-budget IT solutions that spur organization-wide transformation and make a positive impact on the clinical experience.  In a range of healthcare settings, he has recruited and coached technology teams to excel within the context of evolving regulation, security challenges, and the entrance of new competitors.  He prioritizes strategic planning with attention to data science, analytics, emerging technologies, business process, and cost optimization.

As an insightful IT executive, Martin works with his clients to assess their technology capabilities and establish a strategic plan and projects to strengthen IT impact.  Martin has a track record of implementing complex enterprise systems – enterprise risk planning, electronic medical records, and customer relationship management – on time and under budget.  He demonstrates a calm, cool, and collected leadership style when considering security matters and handling compliance and data breach concerns.  Whether working with a start-up or at a company with international operations, Martin embraces innovation and promotes utilizing IT to drive business transformation.

His consulting experience ranges from technology and operational structure reviews to cost optimization projects to balancing the use of insourcing and outsourcing.

He has worked with strategic and private equity sponsors on over 600 M&A projects ranging from target identification, due diligence, integration planning to integration, and post-deal execution, from start-ups to the country’s largest health systems.

Martin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from The University of Chicago. A recognized thought leader on IT topics and leadership, Martin is a frequent speaker and contributor to industry publications.
