Kevin Barnes works with clients to solve technology, operations, and customer development challenges in his role as Managing Partner for the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West.
He leverages knowledge gained through more than thirty years of executive leadership in diverse industries including consumer goods, retail, construction, real estate, agriculture and wholesale distribution companies. He leads the regional practice to focus on solving enterprise problems through collaboration, partnership, and innovation. His career experience includes technology and operations management, corporate venture capital, and board director roles. Kevin has achieved success advising both public and private companies, ranging from startup and Fortune 500. As a change agent, he effectively leads digital transformation projects and skillfully coaches large global IT teams with budgets exceeding $150 million.
As a CIO, Kevin developed strategy and aligned resources to reposition IT become a valued, strategic partner to the business units. His prior experience in sales, category management and customer development provided a foundation for effective collaboration with his peers and their teams. Kevin draws upon a solid understanding of technology trends, data analytics and industry knowledge as he designs the IT roadmap. He also has experience solidifying the IT operating model and governance, strengthening cybersecurity, and mentoring at technology talent. His leadership playbook is designed to improve processes, focused on performance, and create the organizational transformation required to drive profitable growth. His capacity to move between complex, multi-national enterprises and start-up cultures reflects his versatility, change agility and strategic thinking.
Kevin graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance and then received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He completed the Venture Capital Certificate Program at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business as well as executive leadership programs at Babson College and The University of Virginia, Darden School of Business. Kevin currently serves as a volunteer advisor and mentor for several startups in the emerging and enterprise technology areas.
