Greg drives enterprise transformation programs to achieve corporate strategy. His successful record reflects his proven approach of focusing on business priorities, assessing the current state, engaging technology teams, and introducing new systems. He works diligently to support new channels, products, and processes that result in greater profitability and sustainability. With more than two decades in the insurance industry, Greg has a deep knowledge of commercial and personal property & casualty, workers compensation, and life and health offerings. His keen ability to develop teams, manage contractors, and build vendor relationships propels complicated projects on tight timelines and budgets. He has also been instrumental in planning the integration of acquired companies and an advocate for adoption of Insurtech solutions. Change agility is a hallmark of Greg’s leadership style.
As a CIO, Greg enabled technology companies to meet their customers' needs while helping corporate IT functions be more effective. He intensively studied how operations aligned with corporate objectives and assessed the technology footprint as he considered ways to spark enterprise growth. He then crafted the business transformation plan, closely reviewing product roadmaps, market positioning, and sales approach. His impressive understanding of best processes optimizes technology to strengthen competitiveness and improve return on investment. Greg also worked with Insurtech firms and other software companies to develop digital services including cloud and data centered systems. As a management consultant, Greg advised diverse manufacturers, and he looks forward to working with a range of clients at Fortium Partners.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has board governance experience on private companies and nonprofit organizations including current director roles for The Daily Gazette, the media group for four newspapers serving communities in New York; the Overture Center for the Arts, a state-of-the art performance complex and art gallery in Wisconsin; and the Aldo Leopold Foundation, a leader in conservation, responsible land stewardship, and environmental education. Greg served in the Peace Corps and coordinated rural water and sanitation projects in South Kivu, Zaire. Today, he stewards sixty acres of forest and prairie in the driftless region of southwestern Wisconsin, where he also enjoys tapping maple trees.
