Craig Adams is a Partner in Fortium Partners’ West region, where he provides savvy technology leadership to startups, middle-market companies, and high-growth enterprises. With deep experience in IT strategy development and DevOps, he successfully drives project management and guides the design, development, and deployment of software applications.  Across his career, he has recruited and trained high-performing technology teams in co-located and virtual settings.  His entrepreneurial spirit is marked by involvement in the launch of several companies and his role as a mentor to new business owners and entrepreneurs. His notable achievements include building a consulting firm ranked as one of the fastest growing companies in Utah.  At Fortium Partners, Craig leverages his experience delivering fractional CIO services in a variety of industries for more than twenty years.

As founder of a technology consultancy, Craig served as a fractional CIO, CTO and COO for companies in the US and Europe.  His practice leveraged a deep knowledge of hardware, software vendor relationships, and an ability to solve complex technical challenges. Craig’s clients regularly highlighted his nuanced understanding of technology and his ability to add and extract value in support of business strategy.  He advises startups as a volunteer mentor through early-stage business accelerator BoomStartup, leads a networking group to inspire entrepreneurship, and serves as an investor advisor for Barcelona Ventures Silicon Valley to mentor European companies pursuing international growth.

As a technology executive, Craig propelled growth of a startup in the marketing services sector.  He led the company’s greenfield product development, enterprise architecture, and customer service organization.  His professional experience also includes turnaround of a failing information systems platform in a public company, an action that set the stage for development of electronic commerce, customer relationship management, and the world-wide dealer portal for the firm.  He also designed and deployed an intranet to unify international locations and the marketing, sales, production, and accounting functions.

Craig graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a minor in Japanese from Brigham Young University.  He earned a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Universidad Pompeo Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. Craig is an active community volunteer and nonprofit board leader and a member AIM Utah, is the premier organization for IT leaders in the state.  He enjoys hiking the spectacular peaks and canyons of Utah.  Craig is fluent in Japanese and Spanish.
