Bill joined Fortum Partners with robust profile as an innovative leader in the computer software industry.  He has a distinct ability to shape strategic vision and revolutionize product development.  A technology evangelist, change agent, and serial inventor, Bill works on the forefront of technology.  He has global leadership experience in enterprise mobility, software engineering, and design integration.  Bill is both a technical thought leader and a savvy advisor to businesses involved in mobile transformation.  He understands consumer preferences, works closely with the developer community, and embraces next-generation technology.  He effectively leads teams involved in architecture, development, compliance, and security.

As a CTO, Bill has partnered with executive peers to refine the vision and strategy for SaaS products.  His deep knowledge of technology sets the foundation for creating roadmaps, alignment of resources, and delivery of first-of-a-kind offerings.  He has managed large engineering teams responsible for software, quality assurance, and data.  Bill has implemented all aspects of the development cycle including requirements analysis, architecture, execution, and maintenance.  He has valuable experience guiding technology-driven firms to garner significant investment funding or to position the company for acquisition.

Bill holds more than 200 patents in domains including mobility, operating systems, media, telematics, consumer electronics and healthcare.  His most recent patents are in the areas of artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and machine learning.

Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, where he majored in Biology and minored in Math.  He also earned a Master of Science in Software Engineering from Florida Atlantic University through a program administered by Carnegie Mellon University.  Bill is an accomplished musician who plays guitar, keyboard, and trumpet in rock, jazz, and symphonic ensembles.
