Phil joined Fortum Partners with vast experience driving strategy for digital transformation in complex, highly-regulated environments.  A servant leader, his passion is building talented teams and organizational capacity to manage the rapid change of technology.  He focuses on how technology can spur companies to be more efficient and responsive to consumers expectations.  Leveraging his financial acumen, he has led major consumer self-service, process improvement and automation initiatives to increase profitability, reduce defects, and meet regulatory requirements.  Phil holds a deep knowledge of financial services especially mortgage, auto lending products and the full range of consumer servicing across products. 

As a CIO, Phil has developed and implemented successful technology strategies to drive growth.  He thoughtfully considered the people, process, and profitability aspects related to execution.  At global financial institutions, he spearheaded initiatives to improve digitization, spark efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction.  Phil has substantial experience leading IT turnarounds, driving the launch of B2C products, crafting entry to new markets, and managing business restructuring.

As a business leader and consultant, he gained exposure to other diverse industries and sectors including; defense electronics, real estate, energy conservation, retail, and non-profit.  Phil has a long tenure as a board member and is past president of The Samaritan Inn Board of Directors.  The Inn is a comprehensive program that teaches self-sufficiency and life skills to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.  He also serves on the advisory board of a start-up fintech firm providing a multi-product platform for consumer lending and risk management that is now used nationally by banks, finance companies, and credit unions.  Active in the Society of Information Management (SIM), Phil was named the 2006 IT Executive of the Year by the Dallas Chapter.

Phil graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater with a Bachelor of Business Administration.  He continued his professional development at the Securities Industry Institute and at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.  He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).  He enjoys spending time with his family, real estate investing and  classic cars.
