Dallas, TX – September 1, 2016 – FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest-growing provider of technology leadership services, today announced that Monica Kimbrough, a technology executive specializing in business and digital transformations with Global 100 companies like Cisco Systems, Costco, Motorola, Best Buy, Salesforce, NCR-Teradata, Wells Fargo and more, has joined the Firm’s San Francisco practice. In addition to her executive roles, Kimbrough leverages decades of cross-industry experience to pinpoint strategic enterprise transformation opportunities that result in increased operational efficiency and rapid growth to spur dramatic increases in revenue.
Prior to joining Fortium, Kimbrough held technology leadership roles with Deutsche Telekom, Wells Fargo, Teradata, Best Buy, Costco and Motorola, where she served in several divisional CIO roles as well as Chief Systems Architect. Blending technical and strategic skills, this Renaissance CIO has also served in Chief Enterprise Architect roles, including Salesforce, where she leveraged her Enterprise Architecture expertise to influence solutions for enterprise accounts on the Force.com Platform, Heroku and Marketing Cloud , and Informatica, where she participated in the creation of the new business transformation services practice within professional services.
One of Kimbrough's most notable roles was with Cisco Systems, where she developed the COO Lead Transformation Office, which drove the five-year transformation program for this $49.2 billion company. Her efforts in this acquisition-driven growth environment spurred Cisco’s business transformation from a product-based to a solution-based model while aligning operational priorities across Cisco’s councils and boards. This effort allowed the company to achieve what are often competing goals simultaneously, that is, growing in both revenue and margins without impacting operational stability. In a previous capacity at Cisco, Kimbrough developed end-to-end architectures for several programs within 3.0 customer accounts including automotive, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing and retail.
“As more and more businesses satisfy consumer demands to operate on a global scale, leaders will look to executives with enterprise architecture backgrounds to digitally transform business designs and capabilities to increase business value. Enterprise architecture in today’s market is about delivering agility and stability to the business, and executives who aren’t careful will leave this up to IT when it is actually a cultural issue first,” said Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman and CEO. “Monica has more than 20 years of C-level experience as a strategic enterprise architect and she has found success because she goes beyond the technology and seeks the true business drivers that make transformation possible. Her global experience with massive, distributed companies is an added bonus. Fortium is delighted to bring her on board.”
“It may seem contradictory, but for businesses these days, less is more. Enterprise architecture is about simplifying business functions and recognizing the differentiators in business strategy and culture so you can go back and align the business to that operating model,” said Kimbrough. “Once an enterprise identifies its drivers, its DNA so to speak, it can begin to use technology as a silent coach to spur collaboration, incentives and innovation. I joined Fortium because our focus is on what makes a business work well and then align the technology to those needs, and so many leaders struggle with that distinction. Our ability to step back and look at the big picture is our greatest strength.”
Kimbrough holds a master of business administration from the University of Dallas and bachelor of science in mechanical and electrical engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico - the largest university in Latin America.
