Dallas, TX – July 7, 2016 – FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest-growing provider of IT turnaround and leadership services, today announced that James Beattie, a technology veteran with a track record of innovative product development in transformational industries, has joined the Florida and Chicago practices. His industry background in insurance, transportation and the publishing and new media industries helps him guide businesses through progressive change.
Prior to joining Fortium, Beattie served a decade as the CTO of CCC Information Services, the industry leader in automotive claims and repair services handling the majority of all automotive claims in the U.S. through a network of more than 350 insurance companies and 20,000 repair providers. During his tenure, organic annual revenue grew from $160 million to $250 million. He led a combined staff of more than 400 and a budget in excess of $65 million. Before CCC, Beattie served as CTO of Britannica.com, the global leader of educational publishing products and a pioneer in digital publishing. Prior to Britannica, he was vice president of engineering and new media services at a startup, Infonautics Corporation, a forerunner in providing personalized information agents and websites including Electric Library, Encyclopedia.com and NewsDirectory.com to improve access and quality of digital literacy to inner city schools. Earlier in his career, Beattie held key technology leadership roles at Prodigy, Pitney Bowes, Savin Corporation and IBM.
“Technology leaders who have been in the C-suite for multiple decades have led this incredible shift in how businesses handle data and use technology to advance the organization. Fearless CTOs like Jim created the way many do business today by guiding large corporations through calculated risks to move to the cloud, create more open source environments and embrace new security measures,” said Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman and CEO. “Fortium Partners retains leaders with powerful backgrounds because they have the type of confidence and know-how to achieve transformations that can only be obtained by sitting in that C-suite seat and developing the instinct for success.”
“One of the biggest trends occurring today is that many businesses that sold a certain type of product or service for decades are now, essentially, technology companies. A transportation company is a technology company because buses and trains rely on technology to operate. Most energy and utility companies can no longer operate without technology infrastructures to support them. A growing number of organizations depend entirely upon their websites to survive. Business leaders who refuse to recognize this transformation have huge gaps,” said Beattie. “I joined Fortium Partners because, collectively, we can use our direct, hands-on experience as C-level executives to help guide the next generation of business to success with less technology angst.”
Beattie holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Iona College and a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
