Retail and Gaming Authority Joins Fortium Partners

Dallas, TX -- March 31, 2016 – FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest-growing provider of IT turnaround and leadership services, today announced that Tom Beauchamp, a transformational CIO with multiple successes turning around underperforming IT organizations, has joined the National Retail Practice of Fortium Partners. Beauchamp brings more than 30 years of technology leadership experience in retail, online and gaming, for a number of major brands.

Prior to Fortium, Beauchamp was interim CIO at David Yurman where he restructured the Oracle ERP and cloud HR implementations, and updated cybersecurity. He has been CIO at Hot Topic, a mall and web-based specialty retailer, where he restructured the IT organization to enable store growth of 48% over five years, and increased online revenues from under 5% to over 25% of total revenue. Beauchamp has served as CIO for a variety of additional household brands including Limited Stores, Montgomery Ward, Woolworth, and Columbia House. Beauchamp was also CIO of Penn National Gaming, where he implemented the Marquee Rewards national loyalty program. During his tenure, total revenue increased by 26% and corporate technology expenses decreased by 21%.

“You don’t have to be a CIO to know what keeps retailers up at night. Big Data and security issues among retailers are mainstream news, and many are still woefully unprepared for what’s coming next,” said Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman and CEO. “Tom has such a deep and varied experience with retail and gaming companies that he’s seen it all at least twice. He has the know-how to help retailers discover the most important business metrics and use them to their advantage without the need for a complete corporate overhaul. He’s the perfect addition to Fortium’s National Retail Practice.”
“Data integrity and data security have such a high level of visibility right now for retailers, from the consumer level to the corporate board level, and it’s not diminishing anytime soon,” said Beauchamp. “Security is now a regular topic at board meetings, signaling a significant shift in corporate behavior that retailers must proactively address. Fortium’s consulting model allows me to offer guidance to businesses of any size that would like to get ahead of the curve. The National Retail Practice is a great fit for me.”
“Tom’s long tenure as a CIO in Retail at multiple major brands demonstrates the high performance, trust and national reputation that complement our Retail practice. He brings a wealth of business intelligence, loyalty and analytics expertise that can deliver quick impact and built-in return on investment for our retail clients.” said Fortium’s National Retail Practice Leader Dave Manigold. “We are also excited about many ways he can bring lasting impact to our clients by delivering the same business technology and organizational acumen that led to successful turnarounds of multiple IT organizations”.

Beauchamp has served as a director of several boards including the National Retail Federation, Retail Information Systems Advisory Board, and the Gaming Standards Association. He holds an MBA from California State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands.
