30-Year Healthcare Executive Joins Fortium Partners

Dallas, TX February 4, 2016 – FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest-growing provider of IT turnaround and leadership services, announced today that established healthcare leader Ray Dunn has joined the Los Angeles practice of Fortium Partners. Dunn brings more than 30 years of broad industry expertise in the healthcare sector, working with stakeholders to maximize the value of IT and develop strategies that enable success.

Prior to joining Fortium, Dunn was with EHF Group, a healthcare consulting and advisory services firm where he served on multiple engagements for providers, payers and vendors over an 18-year period. While at EHF, Dunn served as interim CIO for healthcare organizations, led strategic initiatives, built collaborative partnerships, and successfully deployed technology solutions. He helped form an enterprise PMO for Scottsdale Lincoln Health Network, led both ICD-10 and Meaningful Use initiatives as Program Manager, and worked with a state Medicaid agency in selecting new systems.  Before EHF, Dunn was the regional VP of BRC Healthcare, an IT consulting and outsourcing firm where he led sales and operations for a 240-employee in a $40 million business unit. Before that he was regional manager at Montgomery Ryland where he was responsible for IT outsourcing and consulting engagements, developed a technology strategy for an IDN that achieved $13 million in annual savings, and also served more than three years as contract CIO for a 700-bed academic medical center.

“The next decade will be an especially disruptive time for the healthcare industry, and stakeholders have adjusted their focus to meeting the needs of the consumer as the nation evolves,” said Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman and CEO. “The current U.S. healthcare system is unsustainable, and no one knows that better than a career healthcare CIO like Ray. Ray is an entrepreneurially minded executive who has worked with healthcare organizations in all types of changing environments. He knows how to interpret change in a manner that will enable success, and we’re happy to add his high-demand skills to the firm.”
“Healthcare organizations are seeking true patient engagement, which requires innovative technology that allows easy access to information for patients and providers alike,” said Dunn. “It will take creative and robust solutions for providers to achieve the ‘triple aim’ of improving the patient experience, advancing population health and reducing per-capita cost. Fortium’s Healthcare Practice has the skills and experience to address these challenges, and I look forward to joining them to bring our clients the transformative strategies they need, and play a key role in the digitization of the industry.”

Dunn holds an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago and a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana. He is a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS) and a Senior Member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (SHIMSS).
