Dallas, TX January 20, 2016 – FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest-growing provider of IT turnaround and leadership services, announced today that progressive healthcare technology executive Lori DeLone has joined the Southeast practice of Fortium Partners. DeLone brings more than 20 years of technology leadership expertise in the complex world of healthcare providers, payers and integrated delivery networks.
Before Fortium, DeLone was SVP/CIO at Health First, a $1.3 billion integrated delivery network, where she led the development of an $80 million multi-year strategic blueprint to support the organization’s 2020 vision for growth and clinical integration. During her tenure, all four Health First hospitals achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 certification in the first year of the program, generating millions in unplanned revenue for the organization. DeLone’s team significantly improved IT performance and optimized operating expenditures by embracing best-practice disciplines (ITIL, AGILE, LEAN) and a culture of service and collaboration. DeLone was also CIO of Halifax Health, where she formalized the organization’s first IT strategy and vision, then planned and executed a five-year, multi-million dollar patient care transformation program that culminated with Halifax Health benchmarking in the top two percent of U.S. hospitals.
“There’s no question that the healthcare industry is facing the most complicated challenges many executives have ever seen due to the reform spurred by the Affordable Care Act,” said Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman and CEO. “Not only is healthcare technology modernization a must, but the changes must also happen at hyper speed. Lori has a sixth sense for what it takes to revitalize an underperforming healthcare organization in an urgent and practical manner, and we’re pleased to have her on our team.”
“The transformation from fee-for-service models to value-based care is well underway, and the extent and velocity of the change is unprecedented. Aspirations to meet competing demands far exceed the capacity to fulfill them, and the organizational and technological infrastructure to support these new domains falls far short,” said DeLone. “It’s not just about the technology, it’s about understanding the value proposition. Healthcare CIOs have a responsibility to help organizations connect the dots. I joined Fortium because as a firm we have a deep bench of cross-industry experts we can bring to bear quickly to help healthcare organizations take a fresh look, think differently and accelerate change.”
“Lori has been challenging the status quo at healthcare organizations for 20 years. She helped two large regional healthcare players transform IT, so she knows how to leverage existing resources and build for the future,” said Richard Harris, area managing partner for the Southeast practice of Fortium Partners. “We look forward to applying her learnings to all types of businesses in the midst of change.”
DeLone is a Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO), a designation held by fewer than 200 CIOs in the nation. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the College of Healthcare Information Executives (CHIME) and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She has numerous technology certifications and she also holds an MBA and a bachelor of arts in business and communications from Rollins College.
