Technology M&A Expert Robert Stephens Joins Fortium
Dallas, TX July 14, 2015 – FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest-growing provider of IT turnaround and leadership services, announced that Robert Stephens, a highly regarded M&A IT leader, strategist and infrastructure expert has joined Fortium based in the Atlanta office.
According to Tim McCracken, Fortium Chairman & CEO, “Helping acquired/merged organizations gain untapped efficiencies through rationalization of product lines and infrastructures is a crucial part of Fortium’s overall mission, especially given the active M&A environment we find ourselves in. More than one-third of the companies acquired last year were small-to-medium sized that typically lack the internal bandwidth at the senior level to adequately pull this off. That’s why I’m enthusiastic about Robert joining Fortium. Throughout his 25-year career he has built a gilt-edged track record as the leader with extensive knowhow when it comes to stabilizing and optimizing IT infrastructures in an M&A environment. His addition to the Fortium team represents an exciting opportunity for us to help our clients achieve a rapid and clean transition in technology.”
Richard Harris, Area Managing Partner of Fortium’s Atlanta practice, was also enthusiastic about Stephens joining Fortium, saying, “Robert Stephens has mastery of a broad range of IT leadership capabilities as well as an unparalleled record of IT success to show for it. Robert has a superb reputation in the Atlanta market and is an important addition to our rapidly growing practice. In addition to his extensive background advising private equity firms on M&A and rollup activities, Stephens has distinguished himself in the Atlanta area by assisting an impressive array of both technology and technology-driven companies.”
Robert Stephens commented, “I am both honored and thrilled to be joining Fortium, a premier technology leadership and advisory group that has amassed a partnership with such incredible pedigrees. I’m also excited to leverage my experience at a time when such a shortage of M&A leadership talent exists. Considering the role private equity is playing in generating acquisitions, Fortium’s reputation as a trusted due diligence advisor made it the logical choice. And when you take into account Fortium’s agility, broad capabilities and sterling reputation, I think it’s clear: Fortium possesses unmatched capabilities along with the in-depth experience needed to serve clients with expert IT advisory services.”
In addition to his extensive M&A experience, Stephens served as CIO of Focus Pointe Global, a leading source for both qualitative and quantitative marketing research data collection, and Chief Technology Officer for SHL Group, Ltd., (now CEB) where he spearheaded IT rollup and consolidation of seven stateside and offshore acquisitions, including contract negotiation and financial management of technology selection and integration.
Robert Stephens earned his Bachelor of Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Information and Computing Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
