PHOENIX, AZ September 16, 2014 / - FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest growing provider of IT Turnaround and Leadership Services, has announced that Cindy Berger Kelly, former Vice-President Global Technologies at American Express, becomes the latest of a series of top IT executives to join the firm. Cindy becomes the newest member of Fortium's Phoenix office.
Cindy Berger Kelly spent over 25 years with American Express, having held numerous executive positions in the areas of financial controls, technology operating infrastructure and technology development. At AMEX, Cindy led a global team of more than 900 employees, and managed an annual operating budget of more than $600M. During this time, she served as the technology executive for one of the top 10 data processing operations and data center facilities in the United States, and led the strategic development and execution of a global shared services and out-tasking model across all corporate functions covering 41 countries. Valued at over $4B, this project touched most of the company’s 60K employees and significantly improved employee satisfaction. The new model was the largest deal of its type in the U.S. and the core agreement remains in place today, continuing to provide transparent IT services to both internal and external customers. In addition, Cindy developed a technology strategy and plan that was able to reduce technology spend for corporate systems by $10M/year, and maintain uptime for enterprise applications worldwide (human resources, finance, and shared services for more than 100K employees and contractors). In 2012, Cindy was recruited to Arizona Public Service (APS) as the firm’s VP - CIO to develop a strategy and implement a turnaround plan for the organization.
Tim McCracken, Chairman and CEO of Fortium Partners states: "When we established Fortium, we were committed that nothing would stand in the way of our brand; A consulting partnership comprised of CIOs and CTOs recognized as the most talented and respected IT leaders in the world today. While this level of IT leadership was mostly unavailable to our clients without long-term employment contracts, huge signing bonuses and comp plans, Fortium made such an elite group of partners available, when and where they needed them the most, and only for the period time they need them. Cindy Berger Kelly has led some of the largest IT initiatives ever undertaken in the U.S., and with resounding success by all measures. To have the opportunity to support our clients with such experienced IT leadership and strategic prowess is precisely what we stand for. We are very pleased to call Cindy a Fortium Partner."
Cindy Berger Kelly comments: "I have never shied-away from the most difficult IT undertakings imaginable. The nature of the work Fortium provides for its clients is exactly what drives me... the opportunity to make a difference where it really matters - in mission-critical initiatives. But what really made Fortium attractive to me was its value proposition; shorter time to value, better results, lower risk. I look forward to helping Fortium's clients achieve breakthrough outcomes where failure is not an option."
Cindy Berger Kelly earned her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Arizona State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Cindy is Governing Body Chair of Phoenix's CIO Executive Summit, and serves on a number of boards, including the Arizona Chapter Make-A-Wish Foundation, and 2014 Knowledge Utility Executive Summit, Edison Electric Institute CIO Advisory Board.
