ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA December 5, 2014 / - FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest growing provider of IT Turnaround and Leadership Services, is excited to announce the addition of Michael Tasooji as the newest Partner to join the firm's West Region.
Michael Tasooji spent twelve years with The Walt Disney Company. As Disney's SVP and Global CIO, Michael developed and implemented the entertainment giant's global IT governance structure, rationalizing centralized/global, regional, local, business segment, and business unit IT products and services. He led a successful implementation of company-wide ERP systems (SAP) globally, replacing approximately 200 legacy systems - with a total program expenditure of $440 million. This enabled transformation of key enterprise-wide Financial and Human Resources processes, while eliminating $150-200 million in annual legacy systems support. Michael established the organization, governance, and operating model associated with the Global CIO board, Information Technology Leadership council, and Architecture and Technology standards committee. He reorganized the international IT division and appointed the International CIO, and developed and implemented the 1st B2E and B2B portals. As SVP/CIO of Walt Disney Attractions, Michael established the company's first segment-wide IT strategy, and developed the overall strategy and execution plan for expansion into Hong Kong, balancing existing global capabilities and unique local market requirements and opportunities. As Vice President, Information Services for Disneyland Resort, Mr. Tasooji initiated and successfully completed the first ever SAP project at Disney, and developed and implemented Disney's “Fast Pass” technology, the single most strategic technology capability that has been implemented in the theme park industry in recent history. Additionally, he oversaw the development of technology infrastructure for the new theme park, Disney’s California Adventure, which later established the blueprint for all other new Theme Parks. In this role, Michael recruited IT leadership and established the entire IT organization from scratch.
After leaving Disney, Mr. Tasooji served in as top technology leader for Apparel & Footwear giants Gap Inc. and Quiksilver, where he developed and executed a 3-5 year IT strategy in support of multi-channel global direct-to-consumer and wholesale operations. Most recently, Mr. Tasooji served as interim CIO for Columbia Sportswear where he oversaw all IT operational activities and a successful deployment of SAP in the US, and developed a comprehensive "direct-to-consumer" capabilities roadmap and corresponding IT strategy and investment priorities.
Tim McCracken, Chairman and CEO of Fortium Partners, states: "Companies in the e-tail space and entertainment/hospitality alike are still battling through all the details to optimize the use of the internet and social media in competing for a greater share of consumer spend. Sadly, these companies continue to pay millions each year to hire top consulting firms, most of whom have "never done it before." Fortium makes available certified experts that have already been through it all and earned the wins to achieve breakthrough results. After all, why should our clients spend money to train their advisors? Michael Tasooji is respected in the industry as an expert in such systems, front and back end that are necessary to operate successfully. Bringing Michael into the Fortium fold gives our clients a chance to reach their goals in less time at lower risk. We are very excited to welcome Michael aboard!"
Michael Tasooji comments: "A lot of complexity is added each year to systems and processes in support of the e-tail market, and it is continually evolving. It is the job of IT to deal with the complexities resulting in effortless business operations and superb end-user and consumer experience. I can't imagine starting from scratch today in learning about all the technical offerings and requirements out there. My passion is to use the knowledge and skills I gain while working with the best, and achieve still greater things for our clients. Because Fortium helps companies with mission-critical technology issues, the firm provides an excellent platform for me to do just that. I'm excited to be part of such an incredible group of talented technology leaders."
Michael Tasooji earned his MBA and BS, Finance and Business Economics from University of Southern California.
