DALLAS, TEXAS October 15, 2014 / - FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest growing provider of IT Turnaround and Leadership Services, announced today that healthcare technology executive Jerry Scott has joined Fortium as a Partner in the firm’s Central region. Mr. Scott comes to Fortium from KnowMED, where he served as CEO for the past three years. KnowMED provides a clinical discovery platform that leverages semantic web technology to ingest data, harmonize clinical terminologies, and generate a knowledge base that users and systems can access to support clinical research and complex decision-making.

Prior to KnowMED, Jerry Scott founded and led several healthcare IT organizations including Healthcare Communications, Inc. (original developers of Cloverleaf), MedBiquitous Services, Inc. (a startup with Johns Hopkins University and School of Medicine), CyberPlus, a provider of controlled medical terminology applications for clinical documentation and delivery, and Lab Force, Inc., the first company to successfully integrate the needs of hospital laboratories with outside reference laboratory requirements into one system. Mr. Scott has been a frequent advisor to a number of other organizations, including cable service providers for telemedicine applications, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, medical centers such as the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and market research organizations.

Tim McCracken, Chairman and CEO of Fortium Partners states: "The evolving needs of the highly dynamic healthcare space are as fluid as the market it serves. In order to properly serve this complex market, Fortium must continue to stay ahead of the very curve our clients are struggling to scale. If we are to maintain our reputation as an IT thought leader in healthcare, we must continue to attract individuals who have forged the strategic direction of the most reputable technologies in this space over the last decade. Jerry Scott has successfully led emerging healthcare technology organizations for more than twenty years, combining a unique blend of market awareness and professional maturity that is just what our healthcare clients are demanding.”
Jerry Scott comments: "The presence of “low-hanging-fruit” in healthcare industry improvements evaporated years ago. Today, it’s pure creativity and execution. In the coming years, the creative application of technology will be as important as any research and development in effecting meaningful change for good in the quality and affordability of healthcare. Every opportunity we have to make this world more efficient through the creative use of technology can translate into quality-of-life improvements for millions of people. Joining Fortium provides me with an opportunity to work aside like-minded individuals, some of the brightest technologists around, with a common dedication to turning what’s possible into what’s probable for its clients. Similarly, I have access to a client-base through Fortium that is willing to forge new ground to achieve great things. I’m very excited to be part of this incredible union.

Jerry Scott earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Texas Christian University.
