DALLAS, TEXAS October 9, 2014 / - FORTIUM PARTNERS, the world’s fastest growing provider of IT Turnaround and Leadership Services, announced today that long-time retail executive David Manigold will join to head-up the firm’s Retail Industry practice. David has been serving the retail industry as a senior executive and consultant for more than 25 years. He will be based in Fortium’s Dallas office.

David Manigold is a highly recognized IT leader, change agent and business partner, having served in senior management positions including CIO / CTO, SVP IT, VP IT Business Applications, Program Director and as a Consulting Partner for major retailers, middle market and international companies driving business transformations through solution implementations and process change. He has proven himself an outstanding partner to business executives, planning IT strategy for business alignment and transformation, directing strategic initiatives and delivering timely results with innovative technologies. During a storied career in retail, David served as VP information Technology for Neiman Marcus, and CIO for Michaels Stores. As a consulting partner, he led multiple large-scale engagements for some of the biggest brands in the industry, including Zale Corporation, KB Toys, Joseph A. Bank, Gap, Brooks Brothers, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Payless Cashways, and many others.

Tim McCracken, Chairman and CEO of Fortium Partners states: "The retail industry has long recognized the importance of IT as a strategic tool in capturing and retaining market share, optimizing the logistics and movement of inventory, and capturing and driving automated decisions off point-of-sale information. Without the effective use of IT, a player in the retail industry will not remain a player. As we sought the most experienced and well-known name in the retail space for professional services to run our retail practice, David Manigold’s name came up time and again. There isn't a retail function or application that David hasn't optimized, and we are very pleased he has decided to join the Fortium team and lead this important sector for us.”
David Manigold comments: "Since Fortium opened its doors earlier this year, the consulting industry has been watching its unprecedented growth driven by a unique approach… hiring and deploying teams of only top IT leaders from name-brand companies to solve the more serious, complex IT issues companies face today. Fortium’s belief that deploying teams of experienced leaders will always achieve better results, in less time, while dramatically reducing risk is paying off, and the market recognizes it as evidenced by Fortium’s rapid growth. The traditional IT consulting approach of leveraging inexperienced resources to apply generic solutions is being “replaced by a better, more efficient model.” Now there is help out there for companies with the more complex issues demanding immediate attention, and I’m excited to be “in charge” of using this unique model to bring better solutions to the retail industry.

David Manigold earned his MBA in Policy & Control and Finance at University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business, and a Bachelor of business Administration in Management and Finance at Western Michigan University – Haworth College of Business.
